(Incline Village, Nevada) " Living Green at Tahoe!

Come join us for Living Green at Tahoe on Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the Red, White & Tahoe Blue festivities at the Village Green. Sponsored by the Parasol Environment Team, this free event runs concurrent with the Ice Cream Social.

You can enjoy family-friendly entertainment with live music by the award-winning Banana Slug String Band, singing earth-loving songs about understanding and caring for our precious watershed.

Local organizations will offer information on Best Management Practices, Defensible Space, Low Impact Recreation, Bear Awareness, and more. Take away information on how to live more sustainably, safely and efficiently with our environment. After enjoying the festivities at the Village Green, take a 5pm tour at the Sierra Nevada College Demonstration Garden and see demonstrations of environmentally-friendly landscaping options, including the new butterfly garden. While on the SNC Campus you can also visit the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center. This event is free to the public.
