The City successfully applied for and received a $1.5 million dollar grant to eliminate lead and
other hazards from local properties. Grant funds will provide local contractors with...
Free EPA Certified Training for experienced Contractors who want work eliminating leadbased
paint and hazards from local properties (all in the City).
Funds to cover the cost of testing and removal of lead from local properties.
Funds to cover the cost of repainting and repairing the home resulting in about 100 mid-size
construction jobs over the next two-three years.
Approximately 250 homes will be tested, 100 will be rehabilitated.

Approximately $800,000 in construction funding for these projects has been set aside.
