This course introduces the main principles of green building and the systems approach to the design, construction and operation of buildings. The two-day course provides an understanding of energy efficiency, resource conservation, water conservation and indoor air quality, and how to effectively convey the importance of these principles to homeowners. The CGBP training is a pre-requisite for GreenPoint Rated Core.
This 2.5-day course introduces you to all GreenPoint Rated systems and includes basic policies and procedures, program requirements, verifications of select measures, the differing roles of advisors and raters, and submittal processes. GreenPoint Rated Core is a prerequisite for all other GreenPoint Rated courses, and starts you on the track to add rating services to your business offerings. Applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements before taking this training. Once your application is approved, Build It Green will send you a link to register for the course.
This Month: news about our updated website and revamped strategic plan.
Full History of SiGBA Green Building Tour homes now on-line
Over the last few months we’ve been hard at work updating the SiGBA web-site with the full history of all the homes and projects featured on the SiGBA green building tours. Now, more than fifty such case studies can be found and searched on the SiGBA web-site. The case studies feature a wide range of sustainable building projects: large and small, new construction and remodels, residential and commercial. In addition to the project descriptions, the case studies include photos and detailed information about the products and participants – designers, builders and sub-contractors. Some of the earliest projects date back to 2002 and the newest projects were seen on the 2014 Fall tour and are still under construction.
Earlier this year the 2015 SiGBA board met to review and update the January 2015- December 2017 SiGBA Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan breaks down SiGBA’s three main goals for the next three years.
1.Creating a greater digital and social presence to better inform our membership of exciting events and learning opportunities.
2.Continue education and outreach efforts to offer our membership opportunities to connect, get involved, and increase their knowledge.
3.Increase membership, increase member participation and fund raising to allow SiGBA to host, promote and assist with more events.
The SiGBA board worked hard to create logical and attainable goals for the SiGBA community as a whole. If you are interested in getting more involved and helping SiGBA meet its goal, we would be glad to hear from you!
